Long time no see...

Wow! It has been so long since I have posted anything here, I forgot the name of my own blog address! :~) I have been thinking about blogging again. I recently watched Julie and Julie (very cute movie) and I think that reinspired me to start up again. I thought of doing the Julie and Julia thing and working through one of my cookbooks and blogging about it. I know that Matt and the kids would love that! I might, we'll see.

A lot has happened since I last posted. Life has changed. The kids are growing so fast. I have to look up to talk to Garrett and Olivia is getting closer to eye level. As they change and we head into the roller coaster ride called the teen years, I am driven into the arms of God. This whole teen thing is a lot harder than I thought that it would be. When the kids were little we took a parenting class called "Shepherding a Child's Heart." Now I am ready for the teen class! There are definitely blessings too. Olivia has been so much fun as she emerges into a young lady and all of the wonderful things that come along with that. Namely, she loves shopping with me and likes working in the kitchen. That is a lot of fun.

Newly painted kitchen

This is the third time that I have painted our kitchen in 11 years of living in this house. I think that it will be the last. I am very pleased with how it turned out.




The "Red Fox" color really helps the kitchen to "pop". It feels new and fresh.

My!!!

Wow! It has been a long time since I have posted! Where does the time go? I know where it goes...Facebook! Since I last posted...We met Lesley Roy back in March. She is an Irish "Rocker". (I didn't find her too "rocky"). She came to the TV station to interview with Matt and then gave us passes to see her and David Archuletta (last year's runner-up on American Idol), in concert that night. That was a lot of fun.



I have been making a lot of cakes lately. A friend of mine asked if I would make her wedding cake in June. That has me nervous and trying different cake recipes and frostings. I made this 3 tiered cake for a quadruple baby shower we had at church. I did the 3 tiers b/c I haven't done that yet and it would be good practice for the wedding cake.


Other than that, I guess there really isn't much going on. Just school, school, and more school. School will be done in 17 days! (Not that anyone is counting!) :~)

This play was the culmination of a 5 week acting class that Olivia took in January and February. Olivia really enjoyed taking the class. I think the best part was that her friend, Mary Kate, was in the class. Olivia and
Mary Kate are two peas in a pod.

our friend, Claire. She turned 8 on January 6th.
This was a really fun cake to make.

Olivia is blowing out her candles. I wonder what she wished for? It has been a wonderful 12 years. It is hard to believe that she is only one year away from being a teenager. She is so sweet and such a blessing to our family.

Olivia and her friends are playing her new Wii Fit game. It is a lot of fun and quite a bit more challenging than a person would imagine.
